Official Tribute Site. Dr. Don was the grandson of our customer Francis Heidrich, and was one of the two Good Samaritans
who lost their lives when they were struck by an out of control tractor-trailer. They had stopped to help newlyweds
who were trapped in an overturned Toyota pickup truck. Please stop in to pay respect and to honor one

the website of the Maitland Art Center. Founded in 1938 as an art colony by the American artist and architect Jules
Andre Smith, this community gem is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Prepare to have your soul touched
as you wander around 23 separate structures that are linked by beautiful gardens and courtyards, and decorated with Mayan/Aztec
motifs. Much of the embedded sculptures throughout the grounds were designed and carved by Smith himself,
the most haunting of which is a Mayan Madonna and Child. My favorite structure is a small, open-air chapel that is composed
of spiritual symbols so rich, that one seems to feel the presence of a Higher Power as soon as one enters this tiny Sanctuary
of love and devotion. Along with renting out the chapel for weddings, the Art Center offers Gallery Exhibitions, resident
artists, and art classes as well.
